The worship of demons!

We see the result of such behavior. They dishonored God by breaking his commandments. They had seen the wonderful power of God at Sinai. But they have reduced the Spirit of the Almighty to the image of a beast.
“They changed their glory into the figure of an ox eating grass. “(Psalm 106.20)
Instead of worshiping God, they dishonored and insulted him. God killed 3,000 rebels and made this announcement to the others:
“But on the day of my intervention, I will intervene against them because of their sin. “(Exodus 32:34)
Their worship did not honor THE LORD. Who was actually honored by this worship? God gives the answer in the song of Moses (Deuteronomy 32):
“They excite his jealousy with foreign gods, they irritate him with horrible practices; they sacrifice to demons that are not of God, to gods that they do not know… and that your fathers did not worship… They aroused my jealousy by what is not God. »(Deuteronomy 32.16,17,21)
In this text, God shows us what happened in the worship of idols. The idol itself was not a “god”. She was, in fact, a lie. Behind this lie hid Satan and his helpers, evil spirits called “demons”. Thus, the sacrifices offered to false gods were, in fact, offered to demons.
The New Testament speaks of the same thing, in 1 Corinthians 10,19,20.
“What am I saying then?” That the meat sacrificed to idols is anything? Or that an idol is something? Not at all. But what we sacrifice, we sacrifice to demons and not to God; but I do not want you to be in communion with the demons. “
It is a mistake to believe that God accepts any kind of worship. Without knowing it, many men worship demons. They enter into fellowship with demons. We learn from 1 Timothy 4.1 that those who forsake the genuine Christian faith engage in the doctrines of demons. Peter announces that many will be led astray by false teachers (2 Peter 2.1,2).

Unfortunately, that announcement came true. This is why there are so many divided groups teaching different things in the name of the Lord. Jesus warned that many would use his name while disobeying his will. “On this day” (the day of judgment) he will have to say to these people, “I never knew you. Depart from me, you who do iniquity. “(Matthew 7:15–23)
